Trip to Symonds Yat (Park & Play)
When & Where
SUNDAY 7th July 2019 (Day trip)
Location: Symonds Yat, Nr. Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.
Details / Agenda
We will be joined by the Bucks County Scouts paddlers and others.
This is a 'Park & Play' trip.
Arrive at Symonds Yat (Wyedean Canoe and Adventure Centre Car Park) before 10am Sunday (parked, paid, changed and ready to launch shortly afterwards).
We will paddle from Wyedean Car Park to the rapids where we expect to play for about two hours before paddling back up to the car park.
There is a walk to the rapids for parents and family to watch, take photos etc. and a local pub and also a tea shop to get snacks.
You should expect to be off the water by 12.30pm.
Paddlers should be at a BCU 2 star standard, and must be both competent and happy capsizing with a spray deck.
Please confirm you are coming (to Paul), so we can ensure the correct levels of coaching cover for this trip.
On a clear run, the journey should take approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. You should arrange your own transport, sharing where possible to save fuel and parking costs. We will co-ordinate where possible.
